My Story
I’m a country girl at heart. I was born in Scarborough but my family moved to Little Britain before I started the 8th grade. My best childhood memories were of time spent at a little cottage that my grandfather built on the Burnt River outside of Fenelon Falls.
In my late teens I lived on a farm, throwing hay bales, bottle feeding calves, and pulling eggs out from underneath chickens…and loved it!
Chores were probably the beginning of instilling a great work ethic in me, but it was McDonalds that I give most of the credit to. I was on the crew that opened the McDonald’s in Lindsay when I was 15. The training was amazing, making me take great pride in a job well done, no matter what the job.
For a number of years I worked on a lumber sales desk in a building centre, designed kitchens, and ended up in a management position. I eventually got the itch to expand my horizons and pursue a career where I could work with people and make lots of money. I wanted to be my own boss.
So I chose a career in real estate, and it was the right choice. After a couple of years of selling I decided to specialize in waterfront sales and spent summers for the next few years at homes and cottages on the lakes in the Kawarthas. What a perfect job!
After 9 years in the business I moved from the franchise brokerage that I was working for, to Bowes & Cocks, a reputable, local family business, and quickly became manager of the Lindsay branch, then Regional Manager, and then Vice President of the brokerage. I have enjoyed participating in the management of the brokerage, as well as coaching agents for the past 15 or so years.
I am now the leader of the Platinum Team. THIS to me is now the perfect job! I get to work with the most wonderful group of like-minded people, who have the same goals, the same values, and who understand the power of the group. The team seems to attract the right kind of people to fulfill our mission and have a lot of fun doing it. And it’s so much fun to introduce new buyers and sellers to our incredible service every day!
